Help & frequently asked questions
Everything happens on your iPhone. No upload, no account, no waiting — the app works fully in airplane mode.
JPEG is the safest choice — every app and website accepts it. HEIC reaches roughly half the file size at the same visible quality and is what your iPhone uses for its own photos, but some older software cannot open it. PNG is lossless, so the quality slider does not apply; use it only when you need exact pixels.
This is normal for some images. JPEG is designed for photographs; it handles smooth gradients well and fine noise or sharp-edged graphics badly. A screenshot or a simple graphic saved as PNG is often already smaller than any JPEG version of it. The app shows the change in orange when a file grows, so you can see it and pick a different format or a lower quality.
No. The original stays untouched in your library. Compressed results are new files that you explicitly share or save.
Camera and location metadata is stripped from the output. That makes the file smaller and stops your location travelling with a photo you share.
The free version compresses 3 photos at a time. There is no limit on how often you use it. Unlocking removes the batch limit and enables HEIC output.
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. The unlock is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — there is nothing to renew.
