Help & frequently asked questions
All 118 elements, four quiz modes and the full table — on your iPhone and iPad, with no account and no internet connection.
The first 20 elements in symbol-to-name mode, the full periodic table, and mistake review. Unlocking adds the remaining 98 elements and the other three quiz modes. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
The app uses the categories chemists agree on: alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals, post-transition metals, metalloids, nonmetals, halogens, noble gases, lanthanides and actinides. A few elements are genuinely disputed — astatine and the superheavy elements past meitnerium have barely been observed, so their chemistry is predicted rather than measured. Those elements are shown in the table with a note and are left out of the group quiz, because there is no single correct answer to ask for.
Element names are translated into the language your iPhone is set to. Some languages have more than one accepted spelling, and school books differ. If a name looks wrong for your country, email us — we read every message.
No. Questions and the wrong answers offered with them are drawn fresh each round, so you learn the element rather than the position of the right answer.
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. The unlock is one-time; there is nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
Yes, completely. The app makes no network requests at all, so it works in airplane mode and during an exam-room lockdown just as well as at home.
Your best score and your missed elements are stored on the device so you can pick up where you left off. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is tied to an account.
