Row Counter: Knit & Crochet

Help & frequently asked questions

A row counter for knitting and crochet, with pattern repeats and notes — on your iPhone and iPad, with no account and no internet connection.

Getting started

  1. Tap New project and give it a name.
  2. Tap the big button at the end of every row. The phone vibrates so you do not have to look.
  3. Made a mistake? Back one takes a row off.
  4. Keep needle size, yarn and pattern page in the project's notes.

Questions

What is a pattern repeat counter?

Many patterns repeat every few rows — a lace chart of 8 rows, a cable every 6. A repeat counter shows the row inside the repeat, numbered the way your chart is, plus which repeat you are on and the total so far: "Row 3 of 8, repeat 5, 35 rows in total". Add one from the ⋯ menu on a project.

Why does the screen stay on?

A row takes minutes. If the phone locked in between, you would have to unlock it with yarn in your hands every single row. The screen stays on only while a project is open; everywhere else your normal auto-lock applies.

What does the free version include?

One project with one counter and notes — a complete row counter. Unlocking adds unlimited projects and several counters per project, including pattern repeats. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

Will I lose my count if I close the app?

No. Every tap is saved immediately on the device, so a project you put down for months is exactly where you left it.

I paid but everything is still locked

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.

Does it work without internet?

Yes, completely. The app makes no network requests at all, and your projects never leave your device.
