How it works
- Tap + (or Add Record). Type the artist and title, or tap Read back cover and choose or take a photo of the back cover or the centre label.
- The text on the photo is read on your iPhone. The artist, title, label, catalogue number, barcode and year it finds appear under Read from the photo. Tap a line to use it, or Use all suggestions. Nothing is filled in until you tap.
- Add a cover photo, the format and speed, the condition of the record and the sleeve, and anything else you want to keep, then tap Save.
- Your shelf shows the covers in a grid or a list. Search, sort and filter from the … menu at the top.
Questions
Does the app look records up online or tell me what they are worth?
No. It has no online catalogue and shows no market prices. Everything comes from what you type, your own photos, or a file you import. The only price it knows is the one you paid, which you enter yourself.
The photo was read wrong
Text recognition can misread small or glossy print. The values are only suggestions: correct any field by hand. A sharp photo taken straight on, in good light, reads best. The photo you read is not kept; the cover photo is.
What do M, NM, VG+ and the other grades mean?
They are the common grading scale for records and sleeves, from Mint to Poor. Tap About condition grades in the form or in Settings for a short description of each. You choose the grade; the app does not judge the record.
Can I bring in a list I already have?
Yes, with Pro: … › Import CSV or Settings › Import CSV. Use a CSV from a spreadsheet or the CSV export of your collection from another service. Columns such as Artist, Title, Label, Catalog#, Format, Released, Collection Media Condition, Collection Sleeve Condition, Rating and Notes are recognised; other columns are left out. You see a preview first, and records already on your shelf are skipped.
What is free, and what is Pro?
Free: up to 30 records, cover photos, reading the back cover, condition grades, search, sort and filter. Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription: unlimited records, the wishlist, statistics, CSV import and export, and a shelf location for each record.
I paid but it is still locked
Open Settings (the gear) and tap Restore Purchase, signed in with the Apple Account you bought with.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.
What data is collected?
None. Your records and photos are stored only in the app on your device. The camera is used only when you tap Take Photo. Deleting the app deletes everything, so export a CSV first if you want a copy; Settings › Delete All Records removes it all. See the Privacy Policy.
